Why are animals attracted to me

Are animals drawn towards you? Do stray animals or animals you have never met before approach and like you? Have you ever wondered “why are animals attracted to me?

Why are animals more attracted to some people than others

Animals often gravitate towards some individuals like magnets. As if they are a Disney princess (or prince). But have you ever wondered why? Why do some people instantly become friends with animals, even those who aren’t necessarily animal lovers?

Why are animals more attracted to some people

I am proud and honored to say that I am quite popular among animals. For some reason or the other, I have always found it easier to become friends with animals than humans. In fact, most of the time, animals have initiated this amazing friendship by approaching me first. Whether it’s dogs, cats, cows, horses, birds or even snakes (Yup! You read that right…snakes). I don’t know if this is a divine blessing or just my body language, but animals feel comfortable and loved in my presence, as do I. On multiple occasions, this has made me wonder “why are animals attracted to me?”

Well, if you have experienced the same and have always tried to figure out why animals are drawn to you, then today we are going to dive deep and find out the answer to the question that many of us lucky people ask – Why do animals naturally like me? And what does it mean when animals are attracted to you?

A paw full of empathy

Have you ever helped a snail cross the pavement simply because you didn’t want it to get squished?

Do you become personally affected when you see an animal in pain?

Do you tend to lash out at people who mistreat animals?

Does losing a pet or an animal friend lead to lasting psychological and emotional pain?

Do you understand what an animal is trying to say even without speaking a word?

If yes, then you can count yourself lucky. Highly sensitive people (HSP) and individuals with high levels of empathy, also known as empaths, tend to attract animals wherever they go. If animals often come up to you asking for pets, hugs and kisses, then it is likely that you are an animal whisperer.

A paw full of empathy

An animal whisperer is someone who can easily –

  • Read the body language of any animal
  • Understand their thoughts and emotions
  • Recognize potential behavioral or health issues
  • Tap into the psyche of the animal

While there may be some psychic element involved in animal whispering, it actually means that you have a lot of empathy, you are highly sensitive and in tune with animals. Connecting with animals on a deep emotional and cognitive level can be a remarkable spiritual experience for highly sensitive people.

Your empathy and compassion allows you to gain their perspective, understand how they see you & others and makes you feel like you are part of a divine whole that encompasses every living being in the cosmos. In fact, people who have pets tend to have higher degrees of empathy than non-pet owners, studies have found.

However, where there is empathy, pain often follows. Losing a pet can be a traumatic experience for some highly sensitive people, especially those who are closely connected with their pets. Losing a beloved pet can feel like losing a family member and the grieving process can often be complicated, heart-wrenching and long. Yet the love persists in our heart. And perhaps this is the reason why animals are drawn to you.

But can animals understand your love?

They know that you love them unconditionally as they love you. They know you are worthy of their trust and their love. And that you will keep them in your heart for as long as you breathe, whether they are by your side or not. Animals have also been known to be empaths who can understand the intentions of other animals, including human beings. They can pick up on your vibrations and figure out whether they should approach you or stay away from you.

But can animals understand your love

So when an animal meets a highly sensitive person and an empath, they can feel your positive vibration. Animals and pets know that they can trust you and understand that this can lead to a strong connection based on your vibrations.

But is that all? Is that the answer to “why are animals attracted to me?”

Reasons why animals are attracted to you

Are you an animal magnet? Here are 3 major reasons why some people attract animals easily –

1. You smell friendly to them

Most animals have a heightened sense of smell which they use effectively to track food and even threats that may linger nearby. As each human being has a unique scent, animals can determine whether you are a friend or foe simply by smelling you. They may even be able to know about your sex, health and mood through your scent. Their advanced noses tell them that you may be interesting enough to get close to and to get their guard down.

You smell friendly to them

It has long been known that the behavior of an animal can be affected by odors from another species,” explains a 2015 study. So if a dog or cat approaches you, it is likely for the way you smell, which is not necessarily due to the scent of the food you recently ate.

While the leftover smell of food is a major factor, your pheromones and the scent of your hair or skin can also attract animals towards you. However, the scent of other animals on your body, like your own pet, can also attract strays and animals towards you. Now you know the answer to “why are animals attracted to me”.

2. You have a welcoming body language

How do you behave when you see a dog, cat or any other animal that you don’t know? Do you say ‘hi’ to them and try to pet them? Do you invite them to come over to you to play? Our body language tells a lot to an animal which helps them decide whether they should approach us or not.

Studies have shown that “The coexistence between dogs/cats and humans is based on non-verbal communication.” In fact, “eye-gaze behavior” between humans and animals plays a significant role in “mutual emotional connection” and “bond formation” among people & animals.

You have a welcoming body language

Animals love when you welcome them to express your love. While they may be a bit cautious initially, your invitation will encourage them to snuggle up to you. Once they know they are safe in your proximity, they will look for other signs to determine whether they can trust you to get some love and butt scratches. This is why your friendly and non-threatening behavior and body language is one of the major reasons why animals are attracted to you.

3. You have a loveable personality

While your body language and smell can certainly make domesticated animals gravitate towards you, your personality can be an even bigger factor when you question yourself “why are animals attracted to me?Animals can often understand what type of personality we have and people with a friendly, energetic and optimistic personality tend to attract animals more often.

When you are upbeat and excited to a dog, cat or any other animal, they may be better able to connect with you, especially if they share the same level of energy. However, a shy and introverted animal may be better able to connect with individuals who tend to be introverted themselves.

In fact, our mood can also influence the behavior of animals towards us. Studies show that animals can understand when we smile, and are often encouraged to behave more positively. So if you were wondering “why are animals attracted to me”, now you know the answer.

Well, animals know how to observe and read the energy you have. This is especially true for domesticated animals like dogs, cats etc. Measuring the energy of humans acts as a survival skill which helps them understand if they can trust you and rely on you for food, shelter and care.

So if animals are attracted to you all the time, then it means that your energy emits positivity which makes animals feel safe around you. According to psychic experts, pets and domesticated animals constantly observe our energy and behavior and learn what they can expect from us through our lifestyle and living patterns.

Animals use this learned knowledge to read people they don’t know and read your energy to figure out if they can trust you or not. This can help to answer “why are animals attracted to highly spiritual beings?

If your energy is similar to another human being they know, they will identify you as someone who is loving and caring. This is the reason why animals are attracted to positive energy all the time. Once you realize this and understand how emotionally and spiritually intelligent animals are, you will be able to better read their attention, respect them more and offer them the help they need.
