For thousands of years man has been looking to the stars for guidance and knowledge. Astrology dates back to 2,000 BC, and was carefully studied by the ancient Indians, Mayans, Greeks, Chinese and Arabs independently of each other. Not only that, but astrology has been used as a way to study human personality and motivation, such as in psychiatrist Carl Jung’s work.

Through observation and analysis, it was discovered that there were correlations between the movement of heavenly bodies, and life here on earth. Through time, twelve distinct astrology personality types evolved.

These days, many people have opposing opinions about astrology. While some skeptics think of it as pseudoscience and wishful thinking, others swear by astrology, raising strong arguments in favor of it.  Personally, I don’t think the validity of astrology should be whittled down to reductionist scientific studies – it’s a complex topic. But on the other hand, I take astrology with a playful “pinch of salt” … maybe that’s the strange mix of Leo (fire) and Cancer (water) within me!
