The sword is comprised of a plasma blade which is energized by kyber crystals. The lightsaber is an inextricable part of the Jedi Order to uphold justice and peace throughout the galaxy. However, it is also used by the Sith as well. But Sith lightsabers are largely different from Jedi lightsabers.
It requires a lot of training a skill to wield a lightsaber and use it as a weapon. It’s power is incredibly enhanced when the weapon is used along with the Force.
Lightsabers in the Star Wars universe are found in different colors including blue, green, red, purple, yellow, orange, white and even black (or Darksaber). The different colors of lightsabers have unique meanings and are vary based on the people using them and their motives.
The energy swords get their color from the kyber crystals. Although these natural crystals are colorless, they take on a color when they are discovered by a Jedi.
The color is influenced by various factors like spiritual alignment, personality of the user and roles for the Jedi.
