Well, the way you see colors say a lot about you. Each person in this world is unique. Although a human eye can perceive millions of colors, not all of us recognize these colors in the same way.
People who have colourblindness lack cone cells, which makes it difficult for them to distinguish between colors like red, orange, green, yellow, and brown. On the other hand, there are people having additional cones which allows them to see an even broader range of colors. Cone cells are photoreceptors in the retina of our eyes, that respond to light and signals to the brain. When the brain receives these signals, we get to see the object’s color.
Now imagine you and your friends basking in sunlight enjoying nature’s bliss. You may enjoy the orange hue during the sunset or purple flowers in the garden. But is your “orange” and “purple” the same as theirs? Your orange could be their yellow or red and purple could be their blue or grey or brown.
Though colors help in object recognition, it is not critical, because knowledge affects our perception, according to some scientists. Experts believe that our perception of colors is shaped by our experiences in life, so memories, mood, emotions and what we think we know can influence our color perception.
Therefore, the colors you like can speak volumes about your physical, mental states.
Similarly, the colors you hate reveals your weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
