Although, it is very well known that there is only one soul, there are some arguments supporting soul dualism. There is a range of beliefs that one of the souls is associated with body functions (“body-soul”) and the other one can leave the body (“free soul” or “wandering soul”). 

It is a common belief in most  Austronesian shamanistic traditions that a shaman’s “free soul” may be held to be able to undertake a spirit journey. There are different theories regarding the conception of the soul and is difficult to guess which one of them is correct.
