“Price is Right” host Drew Carey has recently opened up about his remarkable weight loss journey, shedding a total of 1,000 pounds over his lifetime. While Carey’s weight has fluctuated over the years, it wasn’t until a wake-up call from his doctor that he made a major change in his lifestyle.

In a recent interview with People magazine, Carey, now 65 years old, shared his past struggles with weight and how he finally turned his life around. He revealed that in 2010, his doctor delivered a sobering message, warning him that his lifespan would be significantly shortened if he didn’t make a change.

Carey admitted to having a post-game show ritual that involved medicating with food, consuming large amounts of pasta, cupcakes, Doritos, and soda, followed by taking an Ambien to sleep. Recognizing the detrimental impact of his unhealthy habits, Carey decided to take action.

He implemented a new regimen that included cutting out carbs and engaging in 45-minute cardio workouts multiple times a week. These changes not only helped him shed excess weight but also led to significant improvements in his overall health. While Carey mostly avoids carbs, he allows himself occasional indulgences, such as having a piece of cake. He emphasized the importance of finding balance and not depriving oneself entirely.
