Julia Roberts Message on Beauty

 /

โ€œPerfection is a disease of a nation. We overlay our faces with tons of make-up. We get botoxs and even starve ourselves to become that perfect size. We try to fix something but you canโ€™t fix what you canโ€™t see. Itโ€™s the soul that needs the surgery. Itโ€™s time that we take a stand. How can you expect someone else to love you if you donโ€™t love yourself? You have to be happy with yourself. It doesnโ€™t matter what you look like on the outside, itโ€™s whatโ€™s on the inside that counts. Today, I want to put up a makeup-free photo. I know I have wrinkles on my skin but today I want you to see beyond that. I want to embrace the real me and I want you to embrace who you are, the way you are, and love yourself just the way you are.โ€ โ€“ Julia Roberts.

She posted this on her Facebook and Instagram profile telling us how twisted and extreme our beauty parameters have become.

The people in the world are too focused on looks. Too much! I understand to take care of how you look but filling your face with botox because you have a couple of wrinkles, something which is completely natural, is too freaking much!

Looking at people through this prism, and even worse, filtering people through this prism of beauty-on-steroids is the ugliest thing in the world. It really is disgusting!

Instead of helping ourselves living through our true potential we lock each other into these imaginary prisons just because of esthetics. And not even real natural esthetics but forced.

No matter how good you look thatโ€™s just ugly.

No matter how ugly you look, if your soul shines true, if you are a human by the real sense of this value, you are perfect!

mental health matters

Everyone talks about the importance of having good physical health, and a healthy and strong body. But what about mental health, or rather the importance of good mental health? Just like physical health, mental health matters equally.

As caregiver to my mom and sister, both of whom were diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, I got good at pretending I was fine. From the outside looking in, I played the role of someone who had it all together.

On the rare occasion when somebody would ask me, โ€œAre you okay?โ€ or โ€œWhatโ€™s the matter?โ€ my automatic responses would be โ€œIโ€™m fineโ€ and โ€œNothing.โ€ Few people ever bothered to

Dealing with and healing the scapegoat inside you can be a long journey. But once you understand how scapegoating works and what you should do to deal with it, it gradually becomes easier.

Families who scapegoat use blame and criticism to deflect family problems onto individual members. In this way, scapegoaters avoid taking responsibility for dealing with their problems in general, and maintain the illusion that they are a normal, healthy family.

For example, mother drinks, but daughter is accused of being โ€˜badโ€™ and therefore blamed for motherโ€™s stress related drinking.
