Nowadays, we label anyone as codependent who might be needy or clingy in their relationships. However, codependency is a more complex phenomenon.

What is codependency?
It’s a psychological condition stemming from unresolved trauma and emotional wounds that make a person excessively reliant on a loved one for emotional security and fulfillment.

So much so that the codependent person entirely loses their sense of self and gets enmeshed with the other person in an unhealthy dynamic, opening the floodgate of resentment, unrealistic expectations, and in worst cases, manipulation and abuse.
