7 Life Lessons We Can Learn From The 14th Dalai Lama

Life lessons are extremely useful in modifying our perspectives and thinking pattern. Here are 7 life lessons from the 14th Dalai Lama.

The 14th Dalai Lama is one of the most famous personalities today and for all the good reasons. Not only is he famous, but he is also one of the most inspirational people as well.

The things he says can prove to be life lessons for a lot of people. After all, heโ€™s influenced by great and inspirational personalities such as Gautama Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi.

Same as Gautama Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi, the 14th Dalai Lama is highly quotable. His quotes can teach us a lot about life and ourselves. They can help us in developing our personality, character, and way of thinking.

So, here are some quotes by the 14th Dalai Lama that sure are life lessons for us:

1. โ€œBe kind whenever possible. It is always possibleโ€

Kindness is something thatโ€™s a virtue and must be the first thing a person learns. This should happen so a person remains kind even in heated up moments.

Kindness is a beautiful gift you can give to anyone and this gift can resolve the ugliest of disputes. So, we must learn how to be kind whenever possible. And the great Dalai Lama says, it is always possible.

2. โ€œRemember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luckโ€

If you want something with all your heart and you donโ€™t get it, you must not be disheartened. The fates must have something far better in store for you.

Always remember, we only lose something when we are about to earn something even more valuable than the thing that we lost. So the bottom line is that we must never lose hope and keep our strong and unbreakable faith in luck.

3. โ€œOur prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt themโ€

The 14th Dalai Lama explains the beauty of Karma in his own words. He wants to imply that if we will be kind to others or help others, good things will happen to us.

However, if we try to or actually hurt someone, something similar or even more horrible is bound to happen to us. Itโ€™s just the beautiful game of the fates. So, if you cannot help or be kind to anyone, then donโ€™t try to hurt them as well because that can come back to haunt you and your actions can very well backfire.

4. โ€œHappiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actionsโ€

Nobody is happy by default. People always complain about not being happy and at the same time, do nothing to make themselves feel happy.

The only person that can make you feel happy is you. Nobody is born with happiness, we have to work our way through the challenges of life to earn the fruit of happiness. Happiness is something that we create ourselves for our own use.

5. โ€œMy religion is very simple. My religion is kindnessโ€

The 14th Dalai Lama is a genius for saying such wise words. The only religion we must be following is kindness. Then thereโ€™ll be no disputes on the basis of caste and religion.

If we realize that we are human more than anything else, nothing can stop us from living in harmony with one another. Be kind and spread loveโ€ฆ not hate.

โ€œWe can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselvesโ€

The only way to be at peace with the world is to be at peace with yourself. We must learn how to be at peace with ourselves and then try to figure out if we are at peace in the outer world. The fact is that youโ€™ll always be at peace with the outer world if you are at peace with yourself.

6. โ€œLove and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot surviveโ€

People often mistake love and compassion as luxuries as if, they are something that you have to win.

The truth is that you need to be able to understand the fact that love and compassion are not luxuriesโ€ฆ they are necessities.

The only reason why humanity exists is because of these traits.

These are the only feelings that are keeping humanity alive. Without them, thereโ€™s no definition of the beautiful word, humanity.

My life is a mess and I have nothing to be grateful about! I witness myself say this phrase from time to time, where life plonks us into the desperation of ebb and flow of wilderness and things not going in our favour.

It is easy to say we are grateful and in complete balance when things are going well and life feels like the warm embrace of the sun shining on a Sunday morning. But the real test lies in remaining grateful and centred when life feels like spinning out of control.

15 Most Liberating Thoughts For Someone Who Needs It

Our life unfolds in a succession of revelations of who we are. It is when we sit down and repeat the same sentence in our head over and over again, in every action we perform, every activity we indulge ourselves in, does it indulges into our existence as a habit.

The key to having a sense of liberation is allowing life to flow through, not forcing anything and more essentially not resisting change. I believe that our life improves in the direct proportionality of how often we are exposed to situations where are forced to challenge our age-old beliefs and counterfeited perceptions and seek the greater version of ourselves. When we get too comfortable in the comfort zones we build for ourselves, we do not grow into the people we are meant to be. Sadly most people embrace change only when metamorphosis is the less painful and only possible option.

I know that

The Beauty Of Gratitude In A World Full Of Cynicism

Ever acquainted with the phrase that the world that you exist in, the life that you embody dwells in the perception of the stance you hold for yourself. The beauty and the tragedy of life is that it is as beautiful as the optimistic lens of perception and as ugly as the pessimistic view of your being.

The strive of our endeavours and the constant effort to achieve the next massive milestone often drive us to the edges of insanity, to be in the consistent light of greatness we lose sight of the great strings of joy that bind our existence together. I Breathe In The Sauntering Air That Collapses My Being

I breathe in the sauntering air that collapses my being,I breathe through the crevices of my existence unseen.Uncertainty in its yonder strikes in bolt on the scars that nobody sees,Redemption that loves, redemption that is free, find me in the depths of my poetry.

Tales of lust ridden in smeared touches that belie,Entreated with envy, the visions of victory lie.To be or not to be in a question that yet lies,For I yearn for a world where fond passion never dies.
