Don’t Say Just Be Positive To Someone With Depression

Dont Say Just Be Positive To Someone With Depression

Don’t say “just be positive” to someone with depression.  Don’t say “just calm down” to someone with anxiety.  Don’t say “just eat more” to someone with disordered eating.  These statements are invalidating someone’s struggle and are unhelpful. You will not understand because it’s not your struggle. Don’t let your lack of understanding unintentionally make their struggles worse.
