I learn most things the
hard way. Words never
seem to do it for me.
I don’t know why, but
I would rather take a
bullet and see how it
feels, than listen to
someone tell me how much
it’s going to hurt.

Often, although I believe honed earlier in life when I was a young poet, the idea was to follow the adventure. As I grew older the belief continues to be what lies beyond the fear? What is on the other side of fear. Last year, I did a tandem skydive. I still remember it and it is still the highlight so far. Being someone who has not flown in a plane since the early 90s. Let alone, who would think in the old adage to depart one if there is no dire need? You don’t actually jump out of a plane during a skydive. Rather, you slide out with the person you are attached to securely. So, now driven by what lies on the other side of fear. For the most part, continuing to discover what I am made of and how I can walk or float beyond the fear to memorable experiences worth the initial discomfort of being afraid or sometimes terrified.
