I Always Feel Awkward Doing Small Talk

I always feel awkward doing small talk,
but at the same time I can’t just tell random people
how I really feel or what I really think about,
things that might freak them out or
cause a con-frontatio.
So I think through everything before
and then again after I say it,
and yet I still mess up sometimes
and become a giant ball of anxiety.
