The Scottish songwriter, has made the difficult decision – Lewis Capaldi cancels tour and has taken a break from performing “for the foreseeable future” in order to better cope with the impact of his Tourette syndrome.

During his performance, Capaldi addressed the massive crowd, hinting that it might be his last appearance for a while as he takes another break. In a statement explaining his absence, he expressed the need to focus on his mental and physical health to adapt to the challenges posed by Lewis Capaldi Tourette’s syndrome.

Tourette syndrome is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by involuntary, repetitive movements and vocalizations called tics. These tics can range from mild to severe and can include sudden jerking motions, blinking, throat clearing, sniffing, or the utterance of words or phrases.

Capaldi apologized to his fans who had planned to see him on his European, Australian, East Asian, UK, and Middle Eastern tour, emphasizing that he wants to be in optimal condition to deliver the performances they deserve.

Despite the difficulty of this decision, he assured his fans that he will return as soon as possible.

Lewis Capaldi’s second album, “Broken By Desire to Be Heavenly Sent,” released in May, has achieved extraordinary success. It made an impressive debut at the top spot of the charts, selling 95,000 units and claiming the title of the fastest-selling album of the year.

Currently residing at No. 16 on the UK albums chart, it shows strong momentum and is anticipated to ascend to No. 4 this week.

Interestingly, his debut album from 2019, “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent,” has also seen a significant boost, climbing 22 places to No. 12 after his Glastonbury performance.

Earlier this year, Capaldi released a documentary called “How I’m Feeling Now,” where he candidly discussed his struggles with writer’s block, mental health, and physical well-being while working on the album.
