Love Is Beautiful

Love is beautiful, yes.

But it’s not all black and white.

Love is taking the time to know someone,

And letting them know you, even the parts we’d rather forget. 

Love is bending over backwards to bring a smile on your partner’s face,

Though it may be for a moment.

Love is seeing your partner at their worst,

But still feel like they are everything.

Love is picking up the pieces and pressing on,

Even when it’s easier to quit.

Love is knowing that your partner is not perfect, and acknowledging their faults,

Because they make them who they are.

Love is not being colour blind, or blind to flaws, or dismissive of cultural barriers.

It is seeing all the reasons not to be together, but choosing to stay anyway.

Love is choosing to fight for each other,

Even when all the odds are against you.

And if ever your love is not enough to keep you together,

Love is being content to have ever loved, and been loved by them.
