The Thunder Rolls
Like the sky outside, my mind was getting dark. Thoughts crashing together like the clouds to make a thunderous throbbing inside my head. I sat there quietly, but maybe I wasn’t being as quiet as I thought.
The piercing eyes I felt on the side of my head burned into my skin like lightning bolts to the temple. He was making it so much louder—my mind was racing, but I couldn’t voice it. I couldn’t let him know his silence was screaming and digging it’s way deeper and deeper into my thoughts. I look out the window at the black clouds above…here comes the eye of the storm.
