How glorious or mortifying life we may lead depends largely on what may transpire at the occasions we know as โTurning pointsโย or the โNodal pointsโย of our life.
What is exactly implied by these terms can be best understood with the help of the following diagram.
Just look at the bottom of the diagram, where โ0โ is written. This point represents the date you were born.
The journey of our life begins at this point.
Suppose โ you have lived through half of your life and have come up to the point marked โ5โ in the diagram, just think of the reason why you are positioned at the point marked โ5โ โ not at the point โ4โ or โ6โ.
Obviously, you are standing at the point โ5โ because you should have travelled from the point โ0โ toward the point โ1โ first and then, would have travelled from the point โ1โ toward the point โ5โ.
You would have stood at the point โ4โ โ if you would have moved from the point โ1โ toward the point โ4โ.
But now that you are past the 1-2-3 line, howsoever best you try โ you canโt travel back to the point โ1โ to move toward the point โ4โ (or any of the points 6, 7 or 8).
Nor can you move back to the point โ0โ all over again to walk along the route โ0โ2โ6โ or the route โ0โ2โ7โ.
Once you have reached the point โ5โ, you have no choice to travel toward the points 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17 or 18.
Now, you can move only either along the route โ5โ12โ or along the route โ5โ13โ since you can travel only toward your โfutureโ โ not toward your โpastโ.
You have to decide only whether to move along โ5โ12โ or along โ5โ13โ. Though, in actual life, you may have even multiple options we have, purposely, chosen two options per node keeping in mind the size of the diagram.
Obviously, you would reach the point โ12โ if you choose the path โ5โ12โ and the point โ13โ if you choose the path โ5โ13โ.
The points, such as the point “5”, where you have to decide in which direction you may move โ are known as the โTurning Pointsโ or the “Nodal Points” of the life.
These points give us an opportunity to exercise our discretion about the future course of our lives in the manner the point โ5โ gives you an opportunity to decide which way, you may like to go โ toward โ12โ or toward โ13โ.
Once you reach the point โ12โ, the point โ12โ would become the next โNodal Pointโ of your life where you have to, once again, decide โ whether to move along the path โ12โ25โ or the path โ12โ26โ or to the points โ27โ or โ28โ from the point โ13โ.
Finally, if you reach the point โ25โ, you may call the point โ25โ as your โDestinyโ or the point โ26โ โ if you reach the point โ26โ.
When you were born, you could not have known whether you were destined to reach the points โ19~24โ, โ25~26โ or โ27~38โ but you get to know in which direction you may move once you arrive at any nodal point.
This simile gives us an impression as if our life is just like a journey through an unknown territory without any roadmaps in our hands.
What routes we opt for at various โNodal Pointsโ, decides our โDestinyโ.
But the fact is, only the decisions we take at various โNodal Pointsโ does not decide our โDestinyโ.
There is something more to it.
For instance, is it not true that Albert Einstein would never have become a mathematical prodigy had his mother not taken so much of pains as she is known to have taken to have groomed him after his school teacher reported that he was too weak in mathematics in his class since he was not able to solve even such problems as all other students of his class were able to solve with much ease?
It is her grooming that made all the difference.
The role of grooming in our life
This aspect can be explained very nicely through the example of a plant that though it is true that if we sow a seed of an apple-tree, it would grow into an apple-tree only but it, by itself, does not ensure how healthy the plant may be.
How healthy the plant is going to be, also, depends on the how well the soil in which the seed had been sown had been manured, how much sunshine the plant gets exposed to and how well the plant gets irrigated all along its lifespan.
These are some of the things that do not depend on the date when the seed may have been sown or the date when the seed may have peeped out of the earth into open air.
How well the soil in which the seed had been sown had been manured; how much sunshine the plant would get exposed to and how well the plant would get irrigated all along by the gardener compares with what type of teachers may have taught us, in what sort of schools or colleges we may have studied and how much our parents may have supported us also besides what sort of decisions we may have taken in our life from time to time.
The way, how healthy a plant may be โ does not depend only on the date when the seed may have been sown, things such as how well we are taken care of or are neglected by our parents and other acquaintances also does not depend merely on the day we may have born the way, for instance, Einsteinโs mother should have helped his son get over his weaning problems.
The likely role of the karmas performed by us during our past lifeย
Of course the reason why certain such things also, sometimes, happen in our life which we would have thought very much necessary to have averted but for some reason or another the circumstances dodge us to do not let us avert them โ gives us a strong hint of the likelihood of a decisive role even the karmas performed by us during our past life, maybe playing in our life.
Or else why, at all, anybody should have to endure through a phase of life that he would have abhorred enduring but is not able to win over such a phase of life? It, clearly, suggests that only the profile of the karmas he should have performed during his past life should have been the fore-bearer of the tenebrous force that should have held him back from being able to avert such situations since beside such things the only other thing we canโt change in our life is โ nothing but the โkarmas performed by us during our past lifeโ.
