Nowadays, we are living in a world which is full of information technologies and different gadgets, thatโs why you will probably find reading quite boring. Itโs not the best option for you because the world of literature can be interesting and breathtaking. Here I have a list of great books that college students should read.
1. Harry Potter – Become a Magician Lying on the Couch
Harry Potter is a famous series of books written by British author J.K.Rowling.
They tell us a wonderful story about a young boy and his unforgettable adventures at Wizarding School. Do you want to have an owl as a friend, or practice your flying skills on a broomstick? You will surely have such an experience while reading this book!
Besides a lot of inspiration and enjoyment, you may also plunge into the world of philosophy, friendship, love, and confrontation between good and evil. You will feel the magic inside and make your life brighter.
The main characters will become your friends from the first pages and be with you in happiness and sorrow until the very end!
2. The Book Thief – Words are Life
The Book Thief is a 2005 historical novel by Australian author Markus Zusak.
This novel became an international bestseller, as well as my personal favorite. The book narrates the life story of a German girl Liesel during the Second World War. History books can often be boring and hard for perception, but believe me, this literature work wonโt leave the reader indifferent.
While facing difficult times, Liesel tries to find her strength in books and telling stories. She paints the world around her with bright colors and never gives up.
I think, a reader will also enjoy the beautiful love story, which sparkled between the main characters. In damage that war and death have caused to Liesel and the other characters in the book, love is seen as a way of being happy and free.
This book will teach you to appreciate what you have and make you stronger.

3. The Catcher in the Rye – A Story, Which Catches Attention
Do you still think that all literature is formal? Then read The Catcher in the Rye and make sure that it is not so.
While reading the book, the main character will tell you everything about his life and experiences, friends and enemies, family and first love. He is just like us, and that’s why the reader quickly becomes interested in his adventures.
One more exciting thing to say, this novel was banned for its sincerity and frequent use of vulgar language in the 1970s. That was quite a while ago, so you can read to see the difference between the language and moral rules.
4. Three Comrades – Force of Friendship
It is a novel written in the first person by the main character Robert Lohkamp, published by the German author Erich Maria Remarque.
Like โThe Book Thiefโ, this is another touching historical story. The main characters are former soldiers, who are trying to live happily after the First World War. Despite the fact that fears and painful memories became a significant barrier along the way, the character narrates about the love of life and the importance of a real friendship.
โThree Comradesโ will teach you to enjoy every second of life and to be thankful to people, who are with you no matter what.
