Saying Sorry Is Not Enough

SAYING SORRY IS NOT ENOUGH

If you want forgiveness from somebody the key is not just to say sorry – but to BE apologetic. Words are empty without trying to make up for your wrong doings with meaningful actions. The word “sorry” is not a magical passphrase that instantly fixes everything and opens the door to forgiveness…. it’s a nice start but it’s only the beginning. Before you even say the word, take a moment to put yourself in their place and empathize…. Imagine all the ways what you did affected them and how it made them feel. Try to put yourself in their mindset and FEEL their hurt before you start throwing words at it. Because if you can’t understand it – you can’t imagine how it feels. And if you don’t FEEL the effects of what you’ve done, you can’t truly be sorry for them and you’ll probably repeat the same mistakes again. But if you truly feel what the other person felt – you’ll understand why a simple word is not enough and you’ll do anything to set things right… no matter how difficult that may be or how long it takes.
