How To Pray: Talking to God

Do you have no idea how to say a prayer? You are not alone. Talking to God can sound daunting.

After all, He is God! Remember though that God wants you to talk to him. He wants to hear from you no matter what and He is always listening.

Let’s take a look at some helpful ways to make prayer a part of your daily life.

1. Make the Time to Pray

Are you running in many different directions? With work, kids, and the other stresses of everyday life, it’s easy to neglect the spiritual part of your life.

Making prayer part of your routine will ground you and recharge your battery. Try prayer first thing in the morning or before bed.

Talk to God on your way to work. Turn off the radio and spend some quiet time talking to God.

2. Thank God

Making prayer a part of your routine and thanking God for all of your blessings, for answered prayers, healing, grace, or whatever has you feeling grateful is good for your spirit.

Taking stock of all that’s good in your life is very powerful. It will help you live a happier life.

3. Thy Will Be Done

Remember God has a plan for your life. Praying for God’s will goes a long way in helping you understand that He will get you through difficult times.

4. Ask God and Expect Answers

Pray to God for what you need. How many times have you wished for things?

Instead of wishing, ask God. Seek and you shall find

Watch for God to answer your prayers. It is then that you will realize the power of your prayers and the power of God.

5. Prayer for Others

There’s a lot of good in the world, but people are also facing bad times every day. Keep those less fortunate or those needing intercession in your prayers.

Pray for our president, our first responders, our military, those dealing with illness or hard times, people living in terrible conditions around the world, etc.
