Although he did not specifically detail the accusations, he expressed the detrimental consequences of false allegations that have affected him and his loved ones. 

Hynes White revealed that his family had been subjected to doxing, while his friends had received death threats due to the false claims. 

He also highlighted the misuse of underage photos and misrepresentations of his character, all part of a larger campaign of misinformation with profound consequences.

With conviction, Hynes White firmly stated that the sexual assault allegations against him were false. He refused to accept the portrayal of himself as a bigot or someone who negligently endangers others’ safety.

The actor expressed concern over the harm that baseless claims can inflict on genuine victims, emphasizing the need to address the issue of misinformation.

The sexual assault allegations against Percy Hynes White surfaced on January 18 when a now-deleted tweet from a Twitter user claimed that the actor had assaulted her at a party he hosted in Toronto. 

The accuser further alleged that Hynes White had assaulted multiple women, accusing him and his friends of organizing parties where underage girls were provided with alcohol and drugs for sexual activities.

Following the initial accusation, similar claims gained traction on Twitter, leading to a vocal section of “Wednesday” fans calling for Hynes White’s removal from the show. 

In “Wednesday,” the actor portrayed the character of Xavier Thorpe, a student at Nevermore Academy with the ability to bring his artwork to life. 

Xavier served as one of the love interests for Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega) and Bianca Barclay (played by Joy Sunday).

Despite the Percy Hynes sexual assault allegations, Netflix renewed “Wednesday” for a second season due to its immense success as one of the platform’s most-watched English-language series. 

Within the first 28 days, the show amassed over 1.2 billion hours of viewership, making it the second-largest English-language season on Netflix.
