Help kids break down big goals into smaller goals to make them achievable. Give big praise when goals are reached and if not, for their efforts only. Also have realistic expectations, avoid comparing your kid to others. Motivate them to improve their performance.

Discipline Without Labels
Yelling and power struggle is not effective as it will only lead to your kids learn disrespecting. Parents need to convey their disapproval through talking and explaining things. make firm rules regarding habits and behavior and be consistant.

Improving Self-Esteem
A positive self-esteem is also a protective factor for good mental health. Play with your kid, help them form social bond. Give your child responsibility and duties also refrain from insulting your kids in front of others. These will build a platform for setting your kids up for success and growth.

Kids look to their parents as the example of how they should live. If a parent models low self-esteem, children can develop the same habits. Parents good habits and good bahavior towards others inspire kids to follow the same path.
