Introverts are different, and it is what it is. In a world, where everyone is running around trying to achieve something or the other and are caught in a vicious rat race, itโs the introverts who focus on slowing down and living life in a calm way. But where extroverts are mostly the norm and being introverts the exception, naturally, a lot of struggles arise.
Introverts are very different from others. They have a different sense of fun and their complexities differ from person to person. The extroverted counterparts are adept at interactions and public relations. Introverts, on the other hand, find mundane tasks very taxing and interactions may seem a little difficult for them to conduct. These are just a couple of struggles that introverts have while dealing with the world every day. Want to know a few more?
Here Are 11 Struggles Only Introverts Can Relate To
1. You always feel that people donโt like you.
Introverts are naturally quieter and more reserved than people who are NOT introverts. Because of your reserved nature, most people tend to feel intimidated and unsure about approaching you to have a normal conversation. You might want to talk to someone and look forward to knowing them, but your introverted nature most of the time, stops you from doing so.
Despite all this, you want people to give a little bit more effort to want to get to know you and be friends with you. When you see that they are not doing that, you obviously feel that they dislike you and are deliberately maintaining their distance from you.

2. You sometimes think that you need to change yourself.
Because you find it tough to socialize with people like others can, you sometimes wonder whether you should change yourself and try to be more like them. You think about whether you should work towards being more social when you donโt really want to. You simply want to fit in, and thatโs why you think it is probably a good idea to change who you are.
If you are an introvert and you feel that you need to change yourself to fit in with others, then thatโs one of the worst things you can do to yourself. Introversion is an inborn character trait, and it is not something you need to rectify. You are perfectly fine the way you are.
3. You overthink a lot. A LOT.
Face to face interactions with colleagues and acquaintances are harrowing when you are an introvert. You have this constant fear that you will say something stupid, make a fool of yourself, and then repent later. Overthinking is an introvertโs Achilles heel most of the time and can prove to be mentally debilitating too. Your overthinking always makes you think that a situation is far worse than what it actually is.
You want to be more chilled out, but your overthinking brain always stops you from being like that. As an introvert, you will keep on thinking about all the things that can go wrong, instead of being optimistic for a change and thinking that things might end up being okay.
4. You find it difficult to start conversations.
The fact that you find it hard to start a conversation is an understatement; sometimes it turns out to be impossible for you. This is one of the biggest struggles of introverts. Almost every time, your shyness stops you from initiating a conversation with another person, no matter how much you might be dying to talk to them.
You think that initiating a conversation will make you seem over-eager and desperate. You constantly tell yourself that you will make a fool of yourself and end up saying or doing anything stupid. Maybe you will think that the other person will judge you and your opinions and will find you annoying and that for you is nothing short of terrifying.

5. You feel uncomfortable when it comes to socializing.
One of the biggest struggles of introverts is that they feel alone even when they are surrounded by hundreds of people. Socializing is a pain for them, and they despise it. No matter how happening of a party it might be, you will still feel isolated and alone and always look for ways to leave as soon as you can. Introverts are not really good at social events.
You would any day prefer to stay at home, have some alone time, and do what actually makes you happy. Reading a book, cooking some delicious food, spending time with your pets, etc. are just some of the things that you love to do, unlike extroverts who feel the happiest when they get to socialize with others.
6. You try to avoid people who you already know.
Even the shyest introvert doesnโt hate people, they just have a tough time interacting with others due to their crippling social anxiety. Accidentally bumping into someone and striking up a conversation with others is scary, and this is why you even end up avoiding and ignoring people who you know very well. If you see someone you know from far away, chances are you will run in the opposite direction just to avoid talking to them.
You do not have any bad intentions in your heart, nor do you deliberately try to offend anyone. Itโs just that your social anxiety coupled with your awkwardness makes you run for the hills, just to avoid having a conversation with someone on the street.
7. You end up agreeing to things you donโt want to do.
Introverts are petrified of confrontations and conflicts, which is why you end up saying yes to things you donโt like. Just to avoid conflict and pacify the other person, you end up doing things you hate and feel uncomfortable about. You find it tough to talk to people as it is, so contradicting them and trying to make them understand your point of view is a thousand times more intimidating for you.
This is why you end up losing arguments even when you are in the right, people end up walking all over you, and in the end, you find yourself doing and saying things which you donโt believe in at all. Itโs like an unending and frustrating nightmare.

8. You get freaked out when someone calls you.
You dislike making phone calls, and you dislike getting them too. Texting is a way better option for you, so when someone calls you, you freak out and donโt know what to do. You end up ignoring most of your calls or wait long enough for your phone to stop ringing so that you can text them and ask whatโs up.
You still feel comfortable picking up calls from people who are close to you, but when you see unknown numbers flashing on your phone screen, you almost run and hide behind the couch.
9. Your shyness can be evident physically.
Anxiety and shyness can be seen in someone physically even, and concealing them can prove to be an impossible task at times. One moment you are cool, calm, and sorted, and the next moment you are a bag of nerves with shaking fingers and excessive sweating. Your anxious nature makes you feel apprehensive and scared of even the smallest of things.
This can prove to be embarrassing at times, and no matter how hard you try, you just canโt seem to change this.
10. You dislike organizing parties at your place.
Social events and parties tend to make you feel uncomfortable, and you would any day choose to have a small, intimate get together with a few of your close friends. The prospect of a ton of people coming to your home, and you having to socialize with them because you are the host, is enough to make you collapse.
It makes you feel like someone is trying to enter your private world and you are forced to be fine with it. This is why you hardly throw parties at your home, and always try to dissuade people from forcing you to do so.

11. You are always asked to behave โnormallyโ.
There are larger groups in which an introvertโs voice is lost easily. You often become quiet and prefer to listen more to what others are saying. Participation takes a back seat and you like it when your friends take the lead instead. This is what makes you feel comfortable and happy.
But the problem arises when your friends will try and make you sociable and ask you to act โnormalโ. They will want you to be like them because for them that is how everyone should be. But most of the time, you will take to silence and avoid making snide remarks.
