These 3 Important Careers Leverage Online Training

Online Training 1

Online schools have been around for a while, but it’s only in recent years that online training has become a standard all around. In fact, many people prefer learning online as opposed to learning in person. Online learning is easier and more convenient. Plus, many people prefer a self-paced environment.

Online learning isn’t just for basic academics, however. There are actually several important professions that use online training to support their existing workforce and develop new hires.

1. Healthcare

Healthcare workers are an important part of our society. Without them, we’d be in big trouble. Although becoming a healthcare professional requires following a strict educational course that requires in-person learning, there is room for online learning. For instance, respiratory therapists can earn their online CEUs through AARC approved online courses.

Allowing healthcare professionals to earn their CEUs online makes it easier to keep their credentials active, especially when they have a family or other obligations that limit their free time.

Online learning is the future of healthcare. There’s even a new, cutting-edge healthcare facility in Lyon, France that recently started offering online courses. This is just the beginning. Healthcare professionals lead busy lives on the job and it just makes sense to take learning and continuing education online.

2. Website development

Website development is becoming more popular than ever, which could be partially because it’s so easy to learn online. Granted, developing websites isn’t easy and requires extensive learning and experience to master. However, starting a career in web development is no longer limited to people who can afford a college degree.

There are several ways to learn website development online. You can take courses from an online college, but you can also take courses from sites like Udemy, Lynda, and Coursera.

The difference is that you won’t get a degree from course websites, but you don’t necessarily need a degree to be successful. It just depends on your personal goals and where you want to work.

Now that there are more website developers in the market, getting a website is more affordable for customers. In the past, it wasn’t unheard of for people to pay $10,000 for a basic 3-page website simply because it required custom HTML and graphic design work.

Today, you can get a basic website ranging from a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on your platform and how much work is done from scratch.

3. Digital marketing

Just like website development, you can learn digital marketing online and you don’t necessarily need a degree to make it a career. However, there’s one caveat. Part of being successful with digital marketing requires learning advanced marketing techniques that aren’t always taught by online courses or individuals. For this reason, there is value in pursuing a traditional learning path for marketing.

For example, you’ll only get a small taste of copywriting from most digital marketing courses; you won’t get the full foundation. Most people who teach digital marketing are actually self-taught and have never studied copywriting from the A-listers. This can be a problem because copywriting is more than just writing copy that sounds good. Sometimes you have to walk on the edge, be controversial, get personal, and use improper grammar and punctuation. All the A-listers will tell you that the most effective copy is often rejected by their clients because they don’t want to deviate from what’s comfortable.

Regardless, you can still learn plenty of digital marketing online through courses and even individual blogs and YouTube channels. If you’re interested in a particular niche, there’s probably someone out there teaching digital marketing for that niche. Just don’t forget to pursue copywriting in addition to digital marketing.

Online learning is the future of education

Whether it’s a college course or continuing education for a profession, online learning is the future of education. It’s the most convenient way for people to learn in a busy world and still maintain a work-life balance.
