While sitting in a Hard Rock Cafe one night, a friend confessed to me how hard it is for her to let go and move on after a horrible break up with her boyfriend. She said while holding her cup of coffee, “I was being pushed away. He treated me like doormat. And I feel rotten inside. Until now I am still trying to solve the problems and work for the solutions we both can live with but I guess the handsome Prince I was kissing has turned to a frog. I wonder why God seems to have favorites and my question is, if God is good why did He allow me go through all these pains?” I looked at her and told, “If God is there only to hear our pleas and solve the problems for us, think how busy would He be, considering that there are 7.5 billion people alive in this world.” God gave us the knowledge so that we have the capacity to solve these problems we go through. I can sympathize with you and I wish I know what’s going on with your boyfriend’s heart so I could tell you. In relationships, you feel when you’re being marginalized. You don’t have reasons chasing pavement. Insisting yourself to someone would be like begging for crumb. I don’t want to dampen your hope but it’s not the end of the world. He is not the only salmon in the Atlantic. Don’t get stuck in a relationship and confused whether you “stop” or “go ahead” chasing after someone. Life, they said, is full of confusions. You may be confused about your feelings- romance, affection and decisions; confused how to compute the permutation of people at the Bus station; how to extract the square root of plate numbers while driving your 5-series BMW car; how to calculate the distance between you and your shadow using vector analysis; how to understand the Boolean Logic and the fundamental theorem of Galois theory; and may be confused how to roll the dice to win a game. Let go and move on. It’s as simple as that. It’s okay to get confused about life. It only means one thing. You are alive. Even the late Thomas Edison has lots of confusions. He said, ” I didn’t fail. I have found 10,000 ways that won’t work.”
The next time you will remember him, be brutally and shamelessly honest with yourself and tell, “Thanks God there are Guys like him otherwise this world is such a boring place.” Every problem in life has its solution. It just takes some determination, will and a bit of sacrifice. It’s just a matter of looking at things in a different perspective.
