INFJ Personality Type 1

INFJ is one of the sixteen personality types of the Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator. Anyone with the INFJ personality type is defined by qualities of Introversion (I), Intuitive (N), Feeling (F), and Judging (J).

INFJ people have a very nurturing demeanor and always help others reach their potential. They are dedicated people, who never shy away from helping others by providing original, and useful solutions. The INFJ personality type, often referred to as the advocate personality type is the rarest personality type in the Myers-Briggs list, and anyone who belongs to this category is indeed special.

INFJs are remarkably intuitive, and just know what and how the other person is feeling, even before they themselves know it. They have full faith in their ability to correctly judge people and their true intentions. INFJs are normally very reserved and shy people and are very choosy about the people in whom they confide.

What Does INFJ Mean?

INFJs are known for their love for alone and solitary time (Introverted), focusing on ideas and emotions, rather than facts (Intuitive), making decisions based on values and feelings (Feeling), and like to approach things in a planned and organized manner, rather than be spontaneous or impulsive (Judging).

An INFJ is mostly addressed as The Advocate or The Idealist, due to their compassionate, sensitive, and emotional nature.

This is one of the things that others tend to admire in them, and even try to emulate. INFJs are never scared of challenging the system, as long as they know what is right and what is not.

2. Perceptive and deep.

INFJs never judge other people solely on the basis of their physical appearance; they always look past that and try to understand how the person is. They have this unique ability to get to the core of everything and see them just as they are without any layers or fakeness. INFJs are perceptive and deep people which is why they always look to make meaningful connections with others.

3. Compassionate and peace-loving.

Because INFJs are Feeling types, they perceive and approach almost everything emotionally, and put a lot of emphasis on sentimentality. Empathetic to the core, they are quick to recognize sadness, unhappiness, or worry in their loved ones and go out of their way to make them feel better. They hate conflicts and fights and try their best to keep things peaceful and happy.

4. Decisive and pragmatic.

INFJs have immense resilience and inner strength, and that is why they can fight every battle fearlessly; rarely can anyone outmatch their mental and emotional strength. They always work hard on their ideas with a lot of conviction and don’t stop unless all their goals are fulfilled. INFJs always try to make the world a better place with their conviction, inner strength, and positivity.

5. Virtuous and noble.

An INFJ’s values, ethics, and morals are unparalleled, and no matter what happens, they always stand up for what is right. They harbor profound beliefs in themselves, and never compromise on them. Always ready to give a helping hand to the less fortunate and the people who need it, they serve as the beacons of hope in society. Their motto always has been, “Making the world a better place, one day at a time.”

Weaknesses Of INFJ Personality Type

Just like they have many strengths, the INFJ personality type also has many weaknesses and drawbacks. But then who doesn’t? Read on to know more about the weaknesses of the INFJ personality type.

1. Perfectionist and too specific.

Even though being a perfectionist can be a good thing, too much of it can be annoying, especially when you couple it up with some rigid idealism. Their perfectionist nature ends up making them feel like nothing is good enough, and there is always scope to be better. Be it their job, relationship, friendship, sometimes they fail to appreciate all they have.

2. Over-sensitive and opposed to conflicts.

Once INFJs have decided for themselves, it is next to impossible to change their minds. This attribute of theirs also ends up making them extremely stubborn and rigid with their principles; they have a hard time accepting opinions that differ from theirs.

Conflicts are not always a good thing, but sometimes they are necessary for bringing about some much-needed changes. An INFJs over-sensitive nature and hatred of conflicts end up making the change difficult, at times.

3. Repressed and too private.

INFJs greatly appreciate honesty and transparency, but they are extremely private and emotionally repressed even, at times. They have a hard time talking about their feelings and letting others help them deal with their intense emotions. One of the reasons for this is that they feel they will be a burden on their loved ones, and in the process end up bottling all of their feelings.

4. People pleaser and meek.

INFJs are always driven by their hearts and emotions, which is why they end up being people pleasers without even realizing it. They get so scared of losing their loved ones, that they end up putting themselves and their feelings on the backburner and solely focusing on what others want. Because of this, lots of people end up walking all over them and exploiting their kindness and pure heart.

5. Overworked and burnout.

An INFJs perfectionism can end up burning them out, as they do not like to stop unless they have finished all their assignments and fulfilled all their goals. They sometimes fail at striking a balance and forget that they need to stop and take a break at times. Self-care is something that you have to remind them of constantly, in order to make sure that they do not burn out.
