Born in London in 1946, Birkin relocated to Paris at the age of 20, despite not speaking a word of French. 

It was in the City of Love that she would find fame and leave an indelible mark on the entertainment industry. 

Birkin’s rise to prominence coincided with her passionate romance with French actor and singer Serge Gainsbourg. 

Despite their significant age difference, the couple’s relationship captivated the public and became a subject of widespread fascination. 

Their collaborations, including the sultry and controversial duet “Je t’aime… moi non plus,” earned them international recognition, despite being banned in several countries due to its explicit lyrics.
