The Introvert
I am the pure definition of “introvert”.
I fought it for a long time.
I dressed myself up, became the life of the party,
after which I would need a week to recover.
I would never speak of the amount of time spent in solitude,
but it was striking, even for an introverted person.
Ironically, at the same time, I craved honest, real connections.
Maybe that is all an introvert really is;
a person craving real people so much
that they are prepared to enjoy their own company
if they do not show up.
