People who genuinely care about you will want you to express what you want and need. If they love you your happiness is important to them. On the other hand, people who are using you do not want you to ask anything of them. That would take away from all the time you could be doing something for them. You want a red flag, here’s a big one, if a person takes offense, does not like, or gets hostile when you tell them how you feel, then that person is trying to manipulate you and does not have the best intentions for you.
