The recognition of children’s mental health is the main theme of the updated National Strategy for Suicide Prevention, which outlines a societal plea to rescue the lives of young people.

SAMHSA has established a Center of Excellence on Social Media and Mental Wellbeing to explore the good and bad sides of online life and develop suggestions for parents, healthcare professionals, and youth. The children’s mental health awareness toolkits, in which this center’s research is integrated, are thus given to families to help them decide about screen time, cyberbullying, and online communities.

2025 children’s mental health awareness events highlight the importance of educating caregivers on recognizing early symptoms, having discussions, and providing kids with culturally sensitive care. It is seen that schools and pediatric practices, being the main partners, utilizing the materials from SAMHSA, conduct assemblies, workshops, and family nights focused on children’s mental health awareness.
