Local reports confirm that she lost her battle with cervical cancer, which she had fought for two years. The news of her untimely death has left her friends and family in mourning, paying heartfelt tributes to the brunette beauty queen.
Sherika’s brother, Mayk’ De Armas, expressed his grief on social media, saying, “Fly high, little sister. Always and forever.” Carla Romero, the reigning Miss Uruguay, lamented Sherika’s passing, describing her as “too evolved for this world” and one of the most beautiful women she had ever met.
Anto Ciavaglia, a close friend of Sherika, fondly recalled her “beautiful glow.” While Sherika did not make it to the top 30 in the 2015 Miss World competition held in Sanya, China, she garnered praise for her “beautiful face, towering height, and charismatic personality.” She was regarded as one of the promising talents of Uruguay.
In an interview with NetUruguay, Sherika expressed her lifelong aspiration to be a model, whether in beauty, advertising, or on the catwalk. She cherished the experience of participating in Miss Universe, describing it as a dream for any girl within the pageantry world. Off the runway, Sherika was a businesswoman, selling personal care, makeup, and hair products through her Shey De Armas Beauty Studio. She was also known for her dedication to the Pérez Scremini Foundation, an organization focused on childhood cancer.
