Fiona, famously known as “Britain’s loneliest sheep,” has been successfully rescued from her two-year-long isolation in the Scottish Highlands, as reported by the BBC.

Farmer Ben Best of Dalscone Farm expressed relief at the sheep’s newfound companionship, stating, “The world’s loneliest sheep is lonely no more.”
After overcoming objections from animal rights groups concerned about turning Fiona into a spectacle at a farm park, Fiona was discreetly transported to Dalscone Farm in Dumfries under the cover of darkness. The transfer, according to Best, was a challenging experience but ultimately successful.
Fiona’s transition to her new home has been described as surreal yet remarkably smooth. She has adapted well, displaying a calm demeanor and engaging in regular eating and drinking routines, according to Best.
The recent rescue mission gained attention following a kayaker’s photograph of Fiona at the base of a steep cliff at Cromarty Firth, two years after her last sighting.
An online petition for her rescue garnered thousands of signatures, prompting a coordinated effort led by professional shearer Cammy Wilson.
Cammy Wilson, who has worked closely with Fiona, commended her remarkable tranquility and expressed confidence that she will receive exceptional care at Dalscone Farm, enjoying a comfortable life.
Wilson humorously noted that Fiona had been feasting on ample grass for two years, humorously stating, “I am not sure if you are allowed to say that these days to sheep, but she didn’t seem to be too offended.”
Fiona, at the time of her rescue, weighed 200 pounds without her wool, which, as Wilson observed, was of subpar quality and weighed an additional 20 pounds.
