6 Reasons People Use CBD Oil

People Use CBD Oil 1

According to Consumer Reports, about 64 million Americans have used CBD oil at least once in the last 24 months. From physical ailments to mental health issues, the oil is thought to help with a range of symptoms.  CBDfx makes organic, vegan CBD oil for health-conscious patients who want to reap the benefits of the product without adding unnecessary chemicals to their bodies. There are a number of reasons to consider trying it yourself.

1. Reduces Seizures in Epilepsy Patients

Studies show that CBD oil may reduce the frequency of seizures in some epilepsy patients, especially those who suffer from the rare forms known as Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome. When used in addition to conventional medication, some trials showed a reduction in seizures for as many as 44% of the trial’s participants. Unfortunately, though, the news isn’t all good. Some epilepsy medications interact poorly with CBD and may cause serious side effects, including decreased liver function. For this reason, epilepsy patients should always talk to a doctor before adding CBD oil to their treatment regimens.

2. Relieves Pain

CBD is a component of marijuana, which people have used to treat pain for thousands of years. When extracted from the plant, CBD treats pain without the “high” feeling created from THC. It impacts the endocannabinoid receptors of the human body, which help to regulate pain by interacting with neurotransmitters and reducing inflammation. Studies in rats saw reductions of pain on surgical wounds and in the sciatic nerves. Human trials have shown a reduction in pain related to arthritis, multiple sclerosis, and other chronic ailments.

3. Eases Anxiety and Depression

CBD does more than ease physical pain. Many people use it to help with symptoms of anxiety and depression. Patients who have chronic anxiety and depression may see a slight improvement in mood when using CBD in conjunction with other prescription medications. Some studies show that people who are performing anxiety-inducing tasks, such as speaking in public, felt anxiety relief when taking CBD shortly before performing the task. Studies in animals show that CBD creates more serotonin levels in the brain, relieving depression in the process.

4. Reduces Symptoms for Cancer Patients

Cancer is a serious disease that often wreaks havoc on the brain and body, and the chemotherapy treatments to fight it aren’t very relenting, either. This is why many cancer patients turn to CBD oil as part of their treatment options. Cancer patients who use the oil often report relief of symptoms related to chemotherapy treatment, including pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Some researchers believe that CBD may even prevent the spread of cancer. In some test-tube studies, the oil caused death in human breast cancer cells. An animal study showed CBD oil slowing the spread of the same type of cells in mice. No human studies have been done to date, but there may be in the future.

5. Aids in Sleep

Did you know that a lack of proper sleep can cause you to get sick more easily, feel more depressed than usual, or even hallucinate? For people who have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, CBD oil can be the answer to a prayer. About 30% of people who use CBD for anxiety, pain, or other ailments report an improvement in their sleep pattern as well. They were able to fall asleep more easily and stay asleep longer.

6. Provides Other Benefits

The most common uses for CBD oil are pain management, sleep improvement, and anxiety reduction, but that isn’t all it can be used for. An increasing number of studies show CBD could also act as an antipsychotic, aid in the treatment of substance abuse, and even prevent diabetes. While most of these studies have been done on mice or a very limited number of human patients, the results have included a reduction in psychotic symptoms, a reduction in dependence on morphine, and prevention of diabetes and several types of cancer. More testing must be done, but the preliminary results show promise for the future.

There are important things to know before you add CBD to your routine. It doesn’t affect all people the same way, which means not everybody needs to take the same dosage. The amount you need depends on your age, height and weight, tolerance level, and which medications you take. Always speak with your doctor before using CBD oil.
