Viral Right Brain VS Left Brain Test: 2 Intriguing Options

“Am I left brained or right brained?” Has this question bugged you too? Take this popular Right Brain VS Left Brain test to find out what are your true cognitive strengths!

Can one picture really uncover how your brain operates? According to neuroscience, it might. With the help of a simple image, this What Do You See First quiz offers an intriguing look into how you think, feel, and make sense of the world around you.

The History of the Brain Dominance Test: Left VS Right Brain Functions

Back in 1981, Nobel Prize-winning neuroscientist Roger W. Sperry discovered something extraordinary. The brain’s two hemispheres, left side brain and right side brain, handle information in very different ways.

  • The left hemisphere focuses on logic, order, and structure.
  • The right hemisphere is all about imagination, emotion, and creativity.

Although both sides work together, one usually plays a stronger role in shaping how you think. And that’s where this visual Left Brain or Right Brain test gets interesting!

So, are you ready to take this Personality test?

Take a good look at the black-and-white image. What stands out to you first? A tiger’s face or a monkey hanging from a branch?

Your answer might reveal which side of your brain is steering your thoughts. Which side you’re leaning more – left brain vs right brain! The animal you see first can hint at whether you’re analytical or creative.

After you have made your choice, find your interpretation below. Your choice will settle the left side brain vs right side brain debate for you.

What Do You See First in the Picture? The Viral Right Brain VS Left Brain Test

What do you see first in this picture?

If You Saw the Tiger First…

Spotting the tiger’s face immediately suggests that your left brain is more dominant. You’re likely someone who thrives on logic, precision, and structure.

You prefer clear plans, step-by-step processes, and tasks you can check off your list. You value facts over feelings and tend to approach life with practical thinking and discipline.

Common left brain traits or traits of left-brained thinkers:

  • Organized: You like to plan ahead and stick to schedules.
  • Detail-oriented: You notice the little things others often miss.
  • Logical: You base decisions on reason, not impulse.
  • Realistic: You work with what’s achievable rather than getting lost in “what ifs.”
  • Rational: You think things through (sometimes even too much).

Your methodical approach makes you great at solving problems and staying focused. Just remember, not everything in life follows logic, a bit of empathy and emotional intuition can make your decisions even stronger.

If You Saw the Monkey First…

If the monkey caught your attention before anything else, your right brain is taking the lead. You’re a creative soul, expressive, intuitive, and emotionally in tune with the world around you.

You often rely on feelings rather than facts, and your imagination knows no bounds. This gives you a fresh, original perspective, though it can sometimes make staying grounded a bit tricky.

Common right brain traits or traits of right-brained thinkers:

  • Impulsive: You act on inspiration and love unplanned adventures.
  • Emotional: You feel deeply and empathize easily with others.
  • Intuitive: You often just know things without needing evidence.
  • Artistic: You may be drawn to music, writing, design, or creative expression.
  • Dreamy: You love chasing big ideas — even the wild ones.

Right-brained individuals bring creativity and passion to everything they do. Just be mindful to balance your spontaneity with a touch of structure. It can help turn those dreams into reality.

I first saw the monkey, then kept on looking and saw the tiger a less than a second later and then saw the woman’s face opposite the tiger. Nothing was mentioned about the woman’s face. I felt I was a combination of both Left and Right. So not sure what that makes me but have read that I have the characteristics of an empath? Thank you.
