While the visuals appeared captivating on camera, the cove had been strictly off-limits to tourists due to the inherent danger posed by its “bufadero,” a natural chimney-like formation characterized by unpredictable currents, rendering it challenging for rescue teams to access.
Tragically, this location had already claimed the lives of six individuals, including Jasmine Ben Ali, a 33-year-old Swiss native, and Giovanni Rodríguez, a 27-year-old from Italy, both of whom had drowned in the perilous pool.
Not surprisingly, Marina Rivers faced swift and severe criticism from the online community, with many accusing her of both disrespecting the deceased and recklessly endangering herself for the sake of social media acclaim.
