She has never been one for understanding what she deserved. At one point, she thought she deserved you, and look how that turned out. Gaslighting, silent treatment, emotional abuse. And the excuses she made for you because she thought it was love. She thought you loved her as much as she loved you, because you told her that, and her heart always wants to believe the best in the people she cares for. For when it was good, it was good. But when it was bad, it felt really bad, and in time, the bad outweighed the good. And she stayed because surely it was all she deserved. Until she realized it wasn’t.
