‘Mulan’ Singer CoCo Lee Dead At 48, After Struggle With Depression

Hong Kong-born singer-songwriter, Coco Lee dead at the age of 48. She died on Wednesday, according to a social media announcement made by her family.

CoCo Lee, hailed as the first Mandopop superstar in the United States, had been grappling with depression for several years, as disclosed in the Facebook post.

The renowned artist’s sisters, Carol Lee and Nancy Lee, took to social media to confirm that the “Reflection” singer succumbed to her battle with depression on Wednesday, after a suicide attempt at her Hong Kong residence a few days prior.

Following the incident, she was promptly taken to the hospital, but had been in a coma ever since.

Despite her proactive efforts to seek professional help and combat her condition, her sisters expressed that her depression had worsened significantly in recent months, ultimately Coco Lee dies by suicide.

In their statement, Coco’s family extended their gratitude to the healthcare staff for their dedicated efforts to save her life, as well as the unwavering support received from her fans.
