Joe Rogan: Do What You Love, Because Society Is A Trap And Work Is Meaningless

Author : James America

Here, comedian Joe Rogan talks about work and meaning in his own unique style, asking some important (and sometimes uncomfortable) questions about what our purpose is as a society, and as an individual. Aren’t we supposed to be contributing? He asks. Is contributing the same as working? Rogan concludes that these two things are entirely separate, at least in most cases, and has some thought-provoking advice for anyone who is stuck in a job they hate…follow your dreams instead.

“We got sidetracked and diverted into these boxes, these cubicles in offices,” he says. “So instead of investing your time in a passion, you’ve sold your life to work for an uncaring machine that doesn’t understand you. That’s the problem with our society. And what’s the reward? Go home and get a big TV.”

Do you agree with Rogan’s ideas?

What do work and society mean to you? Did you ever quit a successful career to chase a dream?

Did you manage to marry the two things? Let us know your thoughts.
