I don’t think I ever healed from a broken heart.
It didn’t set back to the way it was.
It’s still fractured. and maybe there is no fix.
Because it hurts in places still.
But, the only way my heart was able to grow –
expand – was for it to break.
After it had been broken I developed a new perspective;
a new understanding. It humbled me quickly.
It reminded me of my humanity.
It showed me that I still had room to grow.
And now I break…but I break open,
no longer breaking down.
