Oliver Hudson, son of renowned Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn, has attempted to clarify his recent comments regarding feeling “trauma” in relation to his mother. The 47-year-old actor addressed the issue on the podcast “Sibling Revelry,” co-hosted by his sister Kate Hudson.
He expressed concerns about his previous remarks being taken out of context and emphasized that his statements were more about his childhood emotions than his current feelings toward his mother.
Hudson’s clarification follows his earlier statements where he described feeling “unprotected” by his famous mother during his childhood. Despite his remarks, he stressed the deep love, respect, and reverence he holds for Hawn, highlighting her importance in his life. Hudson reiterated that his comments were misconstrued and emphasized the strong bond he shares with his mother.
Oliver Hudson Made A Clarification
In response to his initial remarks, Kate Hudson jokingly commented on her brother’s use of “clickbait words,” suggesting that she foresaw the potential for misinterpretation. Oliver Hudson emphasized that his statements reflected his childhood perceptions and did not accurately represent his feelings towards Hawn as a parent.
The actor revealed that he sometimes felt secondary to other aspects of his mother’s life, such as her career and romantic relationships. He described instances where he felt Hawn was not fully present as a parent, attributing these feelings to his childhood need for her support and presence. However, he acknowledged Hawn’s qualities as an “amazing mother” while expressing his childhood perceptions.
Hudson’s attempt to clarify his remarks comes after he participated in the Hoffman Process course, a week-long retreat aimed at identifying negative behaviors and thoughts. He credited the program with helping him understand his parents’ upbringing and facilitating reconciliation with his father, Bill Hudson, with whom he had a strained relationship.
Goldie Hawn, who married Bill Hudson in 1976 and had Oliver and Kate before their divorce in 1982, has been in a long-term relationship with actor Kurt Russell since the early 1980s. Despite the challenges Oliver faced during his upbringing, he has embarked on a journey of self-discovery and reconciliation, guided by his experiences and insights gained from therapy.
Through his reflections and efforts towards understanding his past, Oliver Hudson continues to navigate his relationship with his parents and honor the love and respect he holds for his mother, Goldie Hawn.
