Awe is something we all experience in different ways. Whether that be when you see a sunset so vibrant it looks photoshopped when holding a child for the first time, or even during spiritual experiences that move you so deeply they bring you to tears.
It may be hard to describe but it’s easier explained as something that can bring out any emotion in someone.
Finding awe in life not only makes your soul happy but has a huge impact on your overall emotional health. Its focus on surpassing ordinary daily occurrences is an amazing stress reducer according to Science Daily.

But, how to experience awe? Here are 5 ways of finding awe in life
1. Having mindful moments
Every day, thousands of thoughts bounce from one end of our heads to another. We never really get a break from our own internal chitter chatter. But sometimes stepping away from it all is just what we need and it helps us truly live in the present moment with ourselves, others, and everything around us.
It doesn’t always have to be something grand like skydiving or swimming with sharks that gives us this feeling of being alive – sometimes all it takes is feeling the warmth of the sun on your face.
2. Connecting with nature
If you’re wondering how to find awe in life? Well, take those AirPods out of your ear, put your phone down, and go outside! You’ll be amazed at just how beautiful the world is when you actually take the time out of your day to notice it.
From vibrant sunsets, raindrops falling one by one, or even watching snowflakes hit the ground- there’s an endless amount of little things for us to love about nature! It’s just up to us if we want them or not.
3. Embracing the world with curiosity
If you wonder, “How to experience awe?”, well you can approach life with the curiosity of a child. Why is the sky blue? What would it feel like to be a dog for a day?
These are all questions we’ve asked as kids and somewhere down the line we stopped trying to find answers and it’s really sad to think about. Embracing curiosity opens the door to a world of unknown wonder and keeps us attached to our inner child!

4. Start cultivating gratitude
This is something I’m sure you’ve heard before. The secret to happiness, well not really a secret since your mom has been telling you since grade school, but it’s true! Stop focusing on what you don’t have and take 5 seconds out of your day to appreciate what you do have. This is how to find awe in life!
There’s always something positive in life, no matter how small or big. When you start noticing those things, not only will you feel better but things will generally just get better too.
5. By sharing awe with others
Nothing feels better than sharing good news with others- especially when that news is exciting enough to make them go “no way!” Sharing moments becomes so much more special when they’re done with others.
Whether it be an amazing view someone else needs to experience in person, sharing stories or going on adventures together- doing awesome things with other people always ends up being 10 times cooler.

When you’re young, everything is amazing and nobody can blame you. But as we grow up we lose that sense of wonder. That ability to be amazed by the little things in life.
We get caught up with work, paying bills, all the mundane things adults have to do. We forget that life is beautiful and full of opportunities.
So often do we get caught up in our “to-do list” that we forget to take a look outside and enjoy every breath we take. Understand that every day is a new day and it’s up to you how you want to live it.
