The great call of our lives is to do our part to make other lives better. What do we yearn for is the question I always ask myself? I read a quote somewhere which says “If you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.” By changing peoples’ lives for the better, you also improve your own life! The more people you help the better you feel! But you need to first focus on self. You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you happy. There is no other teacher but your own soul. It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.
Today evening sitting in my living room with an open balcony admiring the peaceful view, I noticed my little ash brown cat Lucky playing joyfully with a thread. Just imagine a calm cold weather, a hot mug of coffee & your pet baby finding joy in something as simple as a string.
Joy is the quality of our true self, which is inherently light hearted, playful & free. Like children who play & laugh freely, finding wonder in the smallest things. They are infinitely creative because they haven’t yet built up the layers of conditioning that create limitations & restrictions. While taking a sip of hot coffee I simply wonder that we can always choose our perspective no matter what is going on around us. Living from a perspective of joy & positive presence gives you great power to manifest that joy in the world at large. Allow that joy to flavor each moment, every situation, every effort, and every choice you live with. I grew up as a lonely cynical kid who never had an opinion on anything. And it was until relative adulthood that i discovered the ability for finer things in life to help me find my power in otherwise powerless situations. The feeling of joy is a clue that you are surrounded by something – that light up your soul. The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves!
Walk into the situations that terrify you. This is how bravery grows. And the finest way I know of to take your power back. Practice removing complaint from your vocabulary (bonus tip: complaint is often frozen anger). Protect your mindset. Negative stimuli have never been so everywhere. So please: Less news and more beauty. Less gossip and more art. Less grumbling and more gratitude. Remember that your income will never exceed your self-identity. And that your outer results mirror your inner story. Focus on how far you’ve come versus how far you still have to go. Remind yourself relentlessly that mastery comes from going to your edges rather than clinging to what’s known.
Life is too short to live in regrets! Do whatever to say “I Love U”. Make someone feel special every moment in your life. Cherish good memories & never let go the hand that holds you when you needed the most! That hand is yours. You are your own greatest support. Right now, think of someone or something for which you feel really grateful. It could be your children, your partner, the home you live in, or the work you’re privileged to do. It could be your devoted animal companions or loving human companions. It could be the recovery you’ve made from an illness, a door of opportunity that’s opened for you, or someone who’s made an enormous difference in your life. It could be a beautiful place you’ve had the privilege of visiting in the outside world, or a sacred place you’ve touched inside of yourself.
Happiness is Not: Feeling Good All The Time. Happiness is Not: Being Rich or Affording Everything You Want. Happiness is Not: A Final Destination. Happiness is a combination of how satisfied you are with your life (for example, finding meaning in your work) and how good you feel on a day-to-day basis. In other words, you have the ability to control how you feel—and with consistent practice, you can form life-long habits for a more satisfying and fulfilling life. Don’t miss the so-called ordinary pleasures every day brings to the wise soul who notices them…the singing birds or the beautiful coffee or the inspirational poem or the laughing child or the clean water or breezes winding through the lush trees…witnessing these shows a life gorgeously lived… …that is my great wish for you.
