YA’ABURNEE: (You Bury Me) It’s a declaration of one’s hope that they’ll die before their love one because of how difficult it would be to live without them.
Ya’aburnee…Look at that! What a word, it’s so brutally gorgeous to look at and my heart is melting every time you are whispering breathlessly these words to me. It sounds so soft in my ears. But, oh, the meaning! Both heart-achingly romantic and just a bit weird. This is one of the things I’ve been worrying about over the years. I don’t want to bury you. You must bury me!
And…Baby, I’m not yet so ready to say goodbye to you. I’m scared to tell the word, ‘Goodbye’- Thanks God, I still have you sitting beside me all the time which made me forget the words, YOU BURY ME. I’ll just pray that we could find strength in one another everyday. Let’s grow old together. It will be a great joy to sit by the window of your apartment- decades from now, each on our own rocking chair, just talking about the past and all that. And if one day, you will bury me…know in your heart that I will be there in heaven-waiting for you when you get there.
Goodbye is a word that most of us do not want to utter as much as possible. That is why, when I tell someone goodbye, I always add the statement, ”See you later or better yet, see you always and forever, My Love!” Because for me, that word connotes something so sad. Sad because it primarily tell someone to be left behind that you will not be seeing each other again. Just by the mere utterance of it, leaves a remarkable endless sighing.
