Why Nice Guys Lose In Dating

Have you ever wonder why women are most likely to be drawn to arrogant pricks but not to the nice guys? Well, that stereotyped ‘alpha’ness of some guys suits well with most of them. Pretty much every woman out there is looking for a confident companion, and not someone whom she needs to take care of. That’s why this whole ‘nice guy’ goodness doesn’t sit right with women while talking about dating.

So, lately, Iโ€™ve been hearing a lot of guys making the โ€œobservationโ€ that women always say they want a โ€œNice Guyโ€ but then end up with the total jerk.

In my circles, this is one of the most common reasons why guys think they donโ€™t get dates. Theyโ€™re nice guys with โ€œprinciplesโ€ and treat women with โ€œtons of respectโ€ only to have them say they only want to be friends.

The โ€œNice Guyโ€ always follows this up with โ€œWell, women arenโ€™t logical and do really dumb things and this jerk is going to treat her way worse than I would treat her.โ€ And we canโ€™t forget โ€œWell, Iโ€™m a nice guy, thatโ€™s who I am and I wonโ€™t change into a jerk for her, thatโ€™s just not who I am.โ€ Iโ€™ve heard this over and over again and Iโ€™ve probably thought this way myself once or twice.

Well, guess what? This whole โ€œGirls donโ€™t date nice guysโ€ is true. Women donโ€™t want a โ€œNice Guyโ€. They may say they do, but what they really mean is that they want a GOOD guy.

Whatโ€™s the difference? Well for starters, Nice Guys arenโ€™t actually nice.

A Nice Guy is a guy who doesnโ€™t think enough of himself to fully take control of his life

He tries to be as accommodating and inoffensive as possible. When he meets a woman heโ€™s attracted to he wants to make sure he does everything he can to please her. He thinks he can do this by constantly asking if sheโ€™s okay and getting her to plan dates. The wishy-washy sentence โ€œOh whatever you want to do?โ€ is the perfect example of this.

See, what the nice guy is actually doing is giving control over his life to the woman. Heโ€™s too scared to live his life so heโ€™ll let her do it for him.

Itโ€™s weak and not just a little cowardly. Women donโ€™t want power over a manโ€™s life. She wants a partner, a friend, a loverโ€ฆ not someone who she has to make life decisions for. When youโ€™re โ€œniceโ€ youโ€™re really trying to give up the responsibility of living your own life to a woman, trusting sheโ€™ll take care of you.
