It takes 3 to 4 years to completely get to know someone. Couples who wait this length before marriage are less likely to divorce.

It takes longer than that. Also depends on the person you are with. You’ll never know someone completely.

Well, it *can*. Depends on the person. If someone is “what you see is what you get,” then it takes less time. I had a “friend” for 4 1/2 years, before I realized she was actually not a true friend at all. I gave her some constructive criticism (which she needed to hear) in a letter, and then I never heard from her again! 🙂 Of course, she changed over that time too, so she might have been a real friend in the beginning.
But anyway, yes, it takes a long time to get to know someone.
