Be Selfish. The World Needs You! - Mind Talk

Be selfish, because to me that is the only way to be in the world.

And if everybody is selfish, the world will be very very beautiful. My approach is very selfish. First, look at yourself. First let the light be there. First let love be there. First let some inner treasure be available there… and then you can share.

How can you share something that you don’t have? You want to be loving – good! But do you have love? You would like to be compassionate, but do you have compassion?

Deep inside anger is boiling – and people are trying to be compassionate. Deep down is violence – and people are trying to be of service to others. Be true to yourself and then only you can be true to others.

What come in. The same thing goes out. My approach is very simple, and my understanding is this – that if everybody is selfish, the world will be very much better.

If you can look into your own self, and you can look into your own happiness, if you can create a small pool of happiness within you, you will start vibrating, pulsating with happiness.

Whomsoever will come in contact with you will have a little share of it, because whatsoever we are, we are constantly giving it.

Life is a continuous give and take. It is a pulsation, just like breathing – you breathe in, you breathe out. If you are happy, happiness goes out, happiness comes in. If you are celebrating, your breathing becomes a celebration. You touch somebody’s hand and you have transformed that man’s being – at least for a moment; you have given him a glimpse, a taste. And of course you are related to many people, in many ways…. They all will start feeling.

Many many people who are selfish are needed in the world – they will become the powerful source of happiness. And then whatsoever you feel like doing, you do. If you want to serve a beggar, serve. But first things first. Otherwise you cannot serve anybody because you have not served even yourself.

So live truly, authentically, sincerely – that is the most fundamental thing.

Learn life! Don’t learn how to serve. Service comes as a shadow.

A really alive person is continuously sharing his energy – whatsoever he has – because he knows that the more you share, the more you have.

So my suggestion is: first be selfish, then altruism will come on its own accord. Then it has a beauty… a totally different quality. Then you are not a do-gooder. You don’t impose anything on anybody. You are a sharer, and to whomsoever accepts some-thing from you, you feel grateful, because he has accepted something from you. Then there is no ego trip.

  • Respect yourself and You’ll respect others.
  • Make yourself happy and then You’ll make others happy.
  • Accept yourself completely and then You’ll find no trouble in accepting others as they are.
  • Love yourself and then You’ll love others.
  • Be kind to yourself and then You’ll be kind to others.
  • Forgive yourself and You’ll learn to forgive others.
  • Liberate yourself and You’ll be able to liberate others.

Be Selfish! Put yourself first! Let’s all promise ourselves to be Selfish and make this World still more beautiful!

  1. Everyone is free to choose their path. Choice is paramount as it is the only way to truly discover the self. Our choices reveal not who we are, but what we need to learn. Many assume that our higher self as they like to call it, knows it all, but if it did, it would not be here learning. Selfishness exist for good reasons but certainly not intended as it is used in most cases. Nature is our best teacher. Watch the seasons pass and learn the purpose of each seasons. Winter is a time that many could consider selfish, but only to recover, digest what has been taken in, regenerate by slowing down. Nature understands that all flows in and out and as such if one gives, one also receives. One honors what he receives but slowing down its giving and fully enjoys his gifts. This is not the same then giving to oneself as pushed by this new selfish trend we are experiencing now. Winter is taking one step back to go two step forward. Thinking that we need self-love to be able to be lovable, is not understanding what we truly are. We are complete already, not missing a thing. Only our ego perception is incomplete composed of layers of veils over veils. Each veil is only the attempt of ego to usurp for itself what it is not its own, and so more veils darkens the horizon. Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar. Being selfish only deprives one of the true riches of what we are. One will never know what is true love until he gives it to someone who will never return it, and receive it from someone who loves without expectations. One will never know its own limits until they are met by someone else limits. It is easy, very easy to be selfish. No one learned much when things are easy. Always remember that the self is not the ego. If things do not flow from within, to out, then they are not real. They are just like fleeting thoughts. They are ego. To be real, they need to get out and shared. They need to take form. That is why the world of form exists and why it is so precious. Spirituality is our roots, and if shallow, can we really expect to rise high as the ego pretend? The light does not belong to us, but is bestowed upon us. Love is not ours, but it flows through us. Life does not belong to us, but expresses itself through us. We are but windows to the most high, the ONE, the infinite. Thinking that we do not have enough for ourselves and need to redirect it all to ourselves is not understanding what we are, and what infinity is. Closing our shutters to hold as much as we can for us, under the pretense that it is the only way to redistribute it is almost laughable. Just let your shutters open as wide as you can, and all will flow through you, never living you out wanting, ever, unless your desires are selfish of course, in which case you will only get the limits of the ego, and that is what so many are getting, and what makes so many so unhappy even when they have it all. When we are individuals (relative), we are limited. When we are divine (absolute), we are infinite. Be careful what you wish for and who do you feed most, as it will be the one that will be the strongest. Feed your limits and you will get more limits. Wisdom says, follow nature rhythm. Give what you have to give, and honor what you receive. It is the flow of things for the one that have ears to hear, eyes to see, and intelligence to understand. All is flow, don’t be a scrooge.
