Five Ways To Overcome Your Insecurity

Five Ways To Overcome Your Insecurity

So many times, I got compliments like, “You are beautiful.”, “You are smart.”, “You are talented.” as if I am perfect and don’t have any flaws. People asked me how to become confident and never feel insecure. But, I have insecurities too that I wish I was taller, then maybe I can be a flight attendant.

I wish to have her body, her hair, and her eyes. I wish I was her, so he could’ve loved me better. I wish I was smarter, so my parents would appreciate me. You know behind those pictures and posts I also have insecurities about myself.

I usually say, “it is all in the mind” that’s why it makes you think and feel that way, but I was wrong. Your insecurities can also come from the people around you. Surprisingly, it’s from your family, your friends, or your partner.

Have you experienced being compared to your siblings or your relatives that you have to live through it until you get old? Have you experienced being cheated on and makes you wonder what is wrong with you? Have you experienced being belittled and talked down by your boss? Etc. It’s hard right, I know how it feels, and you are not alone. And I would like to share with you what I do when I am feeling so low about myself.

First, understand that your insecurities will hit any time of the day, but don’t let them overpower you. Just focus on yourself and accept your limitations. What you hate about yourself makes you unique and loved by others. Just embrace them and be kinder to yourself.

Second, stop looking at them, start looking at YOU. Have a daily affirmation of looking at yourself in the mirror, see how beautiful you are, think happy and positive thoughts, and flash a big smile on your face.

It helps to give you a positive vibe throughout the day. Everything you see on social media, the body goals, travel goals, and relationship goals can be toxic for you. There is more to life than what you see on the internet. Remember that your goal is not to conform to social media. Your goal is to have a better relationship with yourself, so do you.

Third, turn your negative thoughts into productive thinking. With me, I start it by listening to podcasts, I suggest you listen to The Mindset Mentor on Spotify. If you feel insecure about your body, work out. Working out is not only to be physically fit but to also improve your mental health. You are releasing the negative energy in your body and feel tired yet accomplished and feel better about yourself afterward.

Forth, practice self-acceptance and self-love. It may sound selfish, but it’s not. What matters is you know when to stop being hard on yourself and step up on accepting who you are. When you love and take care of yourself, you will never feel drained on giving and loving others too.

Instead, it motivates you to make healthy choices in life. Despite your imperfections and failures accept yourself. Accept that you cannot be good at everything but you can be great at something. People will bring you down, tell bad things about you, but as long as you love yourself and know what you are capable of, no one can take that away from you.

Lastly, educate yourself. When there is something you hate about yourself, search for answers. There are articles that you can read to make you feel better and find answers on this matter.

Like, how to love yourself more, how to deal with my insecurity, the importance of loving yourself, etc. Instead of battling with your own demon, face them and free yourself from searching for significant material that can improve your quality of life. Rather than overthinking it and letting it on top of your head, learn to help yourself.

At the end of the day, your highest achievement is your inner peace and self-love.

I Breathe In The Sauntering Air That Collapses My Being

I breathe in the sauntering air that collapses my being,I breathe through the crevices of my existence unseen.Uncertainty in its yonder strikes in bolt on the scars that nobody sees,Redemption that loves, redemption that is free, find me in the depths of my poetry.

Tales of lust ridden in smeared touches that belie,Entreated with envy, the visions of victory lie.To be or not to be in a question that yet lies,For I yearn for a world where fond passion never dies.
