Learnt From A Wait
The yellow-orange leaves started to fall,
The wind rolls over the moss-covered wall,
The trees stare long at the summer sky,
The days have been so warm and dry.
Your thoughts still linger on the old ghost,
When every single thing seemed almost.
When hope tripped over soft lies,
Held on to a straw to stand and rise.
Yet you stood like a rock against the storm,
With the prayers that guided you home.
I knew you could love or hate your fate,
But you chose to love and learnt from a wait.
