I Asked Her, If She Believed In Love

I Asked Her If She Believed In Love

“I asked her if she believed in love, and she smiled and said it was her most elaborate method of self-harm.”

  1. This is very deep. Many interpretations can come of it. I think maybe this is a woman who feels she is unworthy and deserves to be mistreated ~ that ~ is her definition of love. Maybe even an excuse or justification to stay in a violent relationship. Self – harm!

  2. To love can tear the heart open with all the feelings to fix later when it's involuntarily over. And pain and disbelief hurt worse but she is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. And she'd do it all again.

  3. She once believed and something changed her. Rather it was her choice to change her ways and soon the process of transformation started; thus Love became a distant memory to her. Some call it "Self-harm", she called it Liberation. Freeing herself and others too from her own demons. 🙂
