How to Overcome Being Overwhelmed

It’s time for the universal tip that works for every problem we face: practice mindfulness. Focus your attention on the present moment and accept it without judging it. Don’t try to change your state of mind; just observe it and be aware of it. This approach will lead to better quality of life and higher self-esteem.

It sounds too simple to be true, but the practice works because it puts you in control of your thoughts and emotions. When you’re not judging your thoughts and feelings, you’re allowing them to go through you without leaving deep traces in your subconsciousness. That’s how you build immunity against overwhelming sensations. You learn how to observe them without suffocating emotions. You’re letting those overwhelming thoughts and feelings to go through you without overwhelming you. No matter how crazy it sounds, it makes sense, doesn’t it?

It’s time to stand up to our inner critic. It’s time to take the control over our mental and emotional state of being. That’s the only way to go towards our goals without letting overwhelming moments to stop us from achieving what we’re after.
