It was cool and comfortable in the bunker,
Before the shimmering of the Sun calls;
But, why do I answer to what I know not its importance?
For in this bunker, I found peace.Â
Out I came;
Realizing it really doesn’t hurt,
For its warm sensation on me screams “home at last!”
Yet I wonder, “why didn’t I answer when it beckons?” “why do I have to miss out so much?”
But, do I really have to blame her? “No”
For all she knew, the bunker was home,
And now she knows that home is really where the freedom is;
It is the Oasis in the Desert,
That will forever be engraved in the heart of the lost soul,
That dare step into the land of the saved broken.
NB- This is about being out of comfort zone and thinking outside of the box. The use of ‘she’ indicates the poet’s reference to past self and what she used to think of and what she now thinks about.
